Last night saw the crowning of Carmen Gil González as the 2012 Gala Carnaval Queen in Santa Cruz, Tenerife.

The theme this year is ‘Flower Power and the 1960′s’ so if you are able to visit remember to dress in the fashion of the day!

There are many, many events taking place during the next few weeks, with Carnavals in Santa Cruz, Puerto de La Cruz and then many of the other Towns and Villages around Tenerife.

Perhaps the closest one to our Flamingo Club resort will be the Los Cristianos one which takes place during the first two weeks of March this year.

It is such a lively time to be here in the Canary Islands you must make  sure you have your camera with you to capture just some of the scenes that you will find.

We have notified our Telephone providers and hopefully they will be able to correct the problem very quickly.

Invoices are being prepared and will be issued very soon for payment before the end of January in the usual way.  If you have changed your address recently and have not advised us yet, please contact us to update the system prior to printing.

If you wish to pay earlier so you can ‘bank’ your week with the exchange company, please contact our Maintenance Department and they will prepare your invoice and send it to you urgently.

You may have seen that certain beaches in Lanzarote were closed yesterday due to ‘an algae in the water’.

This was a temporary measure to ensure the safety of swimmers and those taking part in water activities.

Relevant tests have been completed and we have received confirmation from the Oficina de Turismo that it is once again safe to swim off Costa Teguise beach.

Whilst staying at our Atlantic Garden resort why not visit the island of Lobos just off the coast of Fuerteventura?  The island is a nature reserve and is only a ten minute ferry trip away.

Isla de Lobos is small enough to be walked round in a few hours, but large enough for you to be able to feel that you are the only person on the island.

There are pathways all around the island however as you would expect, being a Nature Reserve, certain places are ‘off limits’ – this does not stop you enjoying the majority of the island though.

If you are feeling strong, perhaps you could climb the 127 metres up The Caldera de la Montana, the views are terrific!
